Privacy Policy

Auracta is a private, on-device meeting recorder and transcriber for macOS. This policy explains, plainly, what Auracta does and does not do with your data.
The short version: Auracta processes everything on your Mac and does not collect, transmit, or sell your data.
No data collection
- No account. Auracta has no sign-up, no login, and no user identifier.
- No analytics or telemetry. Auracta does not track usage, does not send crash reports to us, and does not embed any third-party analytics SDK.
- No developer backend. Tedon Software operates no server that receives your audio, transcripts, identifiers, or diagnostics.
On-device processing
Recording, transcription, speaker identification, summarization, the commitment ledger, the session map, and search all run locally on your Apple silicon Mac. Recordings and transcripts are stored on your Mac (in the app’s sandbox container) and are never uploaded by Auracta.
On-device voice recognition (biometric data)
If enabled, Auracta derives and stores per-speaker voice fingerprints (embeddings) on your Mac to recognize speakers across meetings and avoid over-splitting a single speaker. These fingerprints are special-category biometric data under the GDPR. They are computed and stored only on your Mac, are never uploaded, and can be viewed, disabled, and erased at any time in Settings → Known People.
The only egress: optional, opt-in remote AI
The single case in which any of your content can leave your Mac is if you explicitly configure a remote AI provider — for example your own Ollama or LM Studio instance, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you set up with your own API key and URL. This is off by default. When you turn it on, Auracta clearly labels it and, at that point, transcript text you process is sent to the endpoint you chose, under that provider’s terms — not to Tedon Software. You can disable it at any time in Settings.
Calendars and reminders
If you grant access, Auracta reads calendar events (titles, times, attendee names/emails) and completed reminders locally to title recordings, suggest participants, and reconcile commitments. Auracta never writes to your calendar or reminders and never uploads this data.
Microphone and system audio
Auracta records your microphone and system audio only while you are actively recording, with a visible recording indicator. Obtaining any consent required by the laws of your jurisdiction before recording others is your responsibility.
Your control
Recordings, transcripts, summaries, people, and voice fingerprints live on your Mac. You can delete any session, erase known people and their voice fingerprints, and export your data at any time from within Auracta.
